Cumberland

The Town of Cumberland, Indiana, is located on the Historic National Road with about half of the community in Hancock County and half in Marion County immediately east of Indianapolis. Cumberland was officially platted July 7, 1831, and named for Cumberland, Maryland, the east terminus of the Historic National Road. Cumberland's historic downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has maintained much of its original small-town charm while providing the amenities of an urban area.
