The Hancock County Courts are following the most recent guidelines set forth in the Order of the Indiana Supreme Court regarding COVID-19 (issued May 29, 2020). The Hancock County Courts are in full operation subject to further Order of the Indiana Supreme Court.

The Hancock County Superior Court 1 is a trial court of general jurisdiction. The types of cases which are heard by the court are serious felony criminal cases, divorces, juvenile delinquency and children in need of services cases, automobile accidents and other negligence actions, estates, foreclosures, and evictions. The court does not hear small claims cases or most traffic cases.
